Booking Terms and Condition
Please be sure that you have read and understand our terms and condition
A confirmation fee of 25% of total trip fee is required upon booking in order to reserve a space. Full payment is required no later than 30 days before departure. If booked at a later date, full fee must be paid in order to validate a booking.
Cancellation by the participant
If you cancel your day trip, Bike Reykjavik reserve the right to keep the confirmation fee as follows:
- 25% of tour price, if cancelled formally 8-21 days before departure
- 50% of tour price, if cancelled formally 2-7 days before departure
- 100% of tour price, if cancelled formally within days before departure.
Full payment for day tours is due before departure.
We require that all particaipants have a valid travel insurance that covers all medical and/or rescue expenses for adventure trips. If, for any reason, an incident is not covered by travel insurance, the responsibility remains with the participant to cover such expenses. Note the standard travel insurance poicies may not cover you regarding certain activities, possibly mountain biking and trekking in remote areas. Prior to arrival, participants must provide Bike Reykjavik with the following information on the provided.
Client details and insurance form
- Insurance contract number, name and address of the insurance company and it ergency telephone number
- Name, address and telephone number of a family member that should be contacted in case of emgency.
- Previous or currenct medical condition and currenct medication
A copy of the form for each participant, is kept by the guide during the trip.
Minimum number of guests on a trip
Bike Reykjavik requires a minimum number of guests per trip. In case of lack of participants we reserve the right to cancel the day tours 24 hour before the trip and if we cancel the trip you will get you payment back.
Health and fitness requirements
Outdoor activities such as mountain biking and trekking carry an inherent risk of injury and possible death, which connot be eliminated. One must accept that although we do our best to reduce risk to an acceptable level, accidents can always occur. When booking whit Bike Reykjavik you agree to follow the instructions and decisions made by our guides regarding the safety of individuals and/or the group. All participants agree to receive medical treastment administered by the guide or other team members in case of accidents or illnesses whilst evacuation plans ar put into effect. Neither Bike Reykjavik nor its staff can be held responsible for any icidents or accidents orrurring during its trips.
Mountain biking and trekking require at least an average level of fitness and good health. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they obtain proper training and medical advice with regard to the planned activity.
Bike Reykjavik makes every effort to adhere to the planned itinerary but participants must appreciate and acknowledge that all tours require considerable flexibility in the actual operation. Bike Reykjavik and its guides reserve the right to adjust the itinerary without notice due to weather, mountain conditions or other unforeseeable circumstances. All participants must accept this.
Bike Reykjavik accepts no liability for delays or other consequences of force majeure incidents such as strikes, riots, acts of war or terrorism, disease outbreaks, government intervention, natural disasters or adverse weather conditions. If such occurrences force us to cancel a trip we will offer an alternative one if possible, but assume no responsibility for return of fees paid prior to cancellation or curtailment.
During trips, personal belongings are entirely at the participant’s risk and Bike Reykjavik shall hold no liability for possible loss or damage.
